That’s Not Quite Right…

Today I saw an article entitled, “Being polite to officer leads to man’s arrest“. I investigated further.

A man in Massachusetts held the door of a mall open for a police officer who was leaving. The police officer thought he recognized the man, and upon checking his car’s computer, he discovered that there were three warrants out for the man’s arrest. One for heroin possession, one for shoplifting, and the last for driving with a suspended license.

So, in fact, the man was a criminal. Being polite to the officer didn’t lead to his arrest, though. I suppose if he hadn’t have opened the door, the police officer wouldn’t have recognized him, but it was still his crimes that led to his arrest.

I thought it was kind of a misleading title, that’s all.

  1. Libby says:

    But it caught your attention!

  2. atkokosplace says:

I’ve noticed many titles are misleading.
