New Fashion Statement

Posted: March 28, 2016 in Articles

Yesterday my dad was working on a project which required duct tape, and as always when working on an outdoor project, he wore his work jeans. These already don’t look too good as they are sporting a few holes, stains, and dirt. And in his tearing of duct tape, there were a few pieces which didn’t tear as planned, and these pieces, he stuck to his jeans. At this point, his jeans looked even worse.

But then we realized that this might be the new fashion in a couple of years. Paris designers might realize the obvious appeal of having duct tape stuck to one’s clothes. People already like to purchase brand new jeans with a bunch of holes in them, so why not add duct tape?

What amazes me is that ripped jeans cost more to buy than un-ripped ones – at least here in the UK. Why don’t people just rip their old jeans and buy new, cheaper ones without holes?
