First Real Work, Spring 2016

Today was the first day we could spend outdoors and get a little bit of real work done.

First, we removed our small curly willow tree from our once-upon-a-time butterfly garden, and replaced it with a Celeste fig tree.  The curly willow will be replanted in the front yard where all things decorative go.

Next, we got 3 beds ready for potatoes: white, Yukon, and red. We found lots and lots of earthworms and tried to keep our chickens from eating them all.

We are also continuing our work on our greenhouse. It looks like we won’t be using it this spring, but it will sure come in handy come fall.

Here are some wood hyacinths looking good in a wild flower garden and our chickens scratching in the main garden.
