One Nation Under God…

And that God to which the Pledge of Allegiance is referring, is not Allah, who is not the same as the Christian God.

Now that students attending public schools are no longer forced to participate in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, they are free to be forced to delve into the history of the Islamic religion, forced to write out and confess the Shahada, the Islamic profession of faith, and forced to learn Islamic teachings from the Quran.

Students may opt out of saying the Pledge of Allegiance; however, at least at this school in Maryland, they may not opt out of assignments and verbal professions on Islam.

Recently, a Christian student was punished for refusing to write out and confess the Shahada and do other things that the school wanted her to do because it violated her Christian beliefs. If you want to know what the shahada is, it is this: “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”

How would forcing students to say, “Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus” go over in the public schools?

Can anyone see any hypocrisy here?

Apparently, the history class spent one day on Christianity and two weeks on Islam. You have to wonder what would happen if someone tried to make kids recite the Nicene Creed. One, that would never happen, and two, if it did, anyone who didn’t want to do it would be excused from it in no time flat.

When it’s in reference to Islam, anything goes, but Christianity is hardly mentioned any more. Oh, and you’re also penalized if you don’t want to profess Islamic faith that is in direct contrast with your Christian faith.

“…liberty and justice for all.” Indeed.

  1. We are so afraid of being seen to deny other cultures that we dare not uphold our own

    • Yup. I believe it is often cowardice masked as a kindness. Laziness & love of comfort are probably factors too. Money? Probably. In any case, we are on the verge of losing our American heritage if everyone doesn’t step up fast. Thanks for commenting.
