Yeah, normally it’s “TMI” for “too much information,” but today and for the past couple of weeks it’s been TMR: too much rain.

The zucchini and various other summer squash leaves have powdery mildew on them, and while normally rain is a good thing, it turns out that there is such a thing as “TMR.”

We spent some time today cutting off the worst leaves, and at the same time I discovered some hidden fruit.

I actually had fun cutting the leaves with a knife because the stems are big and hollow and they make a nice sound when you cut them. They also sometimes drip water. We even saw a stem that was filled with water.

Today we also took the netting off the blueberries and let the chickens into the area. They were extremely happy and first gobbled up all the berries on the ground that they wanted and then began to scratch and scratch. They were finding all kinds of wormy creatures. They ate so much, they went into the garden for a long rest and dirt bath before coming back for seconds 🙂
