Garden Update – Mid-May 2015

Well, mostly this post consists of pictures as you can see.

We took a lot of our mom’s blue wisteria, from its early spring appearance until near peak. And the same with the orange azaleas.

We show our new carrots, just up, and our newly planted sweet potatoes. Broccoli are getting heads and pepper plants are starting up their babies. Soon, we hopefully will be harvesting buckets of blueberries.

We also put some tomatoes and peppers into a flower garden. Yes, it is all the rage now, but that’s not why we did it. We simply ran out of space in our main garden. It looks like it will work, though, and we even think it looks nice. That despite the fact that last night and this morning brought lots of gusty winds!

Then, Mr. Bluebird came by. He lives in the house by the wisteria until the sparrows come and chase the bluebirds out. It happens every year. The bluebirds are in it until late spring and then the sparrows come and bully their way into the house. Poor bluebirds. Still, every year, they come back and try again.
