Garden In! – Almost

Yesterday our family made a major effort to try to get the garden mostly done. We did make a lot of progress, but we have a long way to go.

Ground was tilled and some zucchini, squash, cucumbers, corn, tomatoes, radishes, beets, and some more things are planted and growing well, but we have a lot more work to do!

More tomatoes and peppers need to be planted as well as corn, watermelon, cantaloupe, herbs, and probably more we don’t even know about. The picture is just of the “main” garden, but there are others scattered about as well as raised beds here and there. Good thing our parents are still in their prime and enjoy working so hard in the garden šŸ™‚

By the way, that shirt hanging up does act as a scarecrow and it is effective while the corn is just coming up until the plants are 4-5 inches tall. At that point the crows leave them alone and then we just have to keep the chickens out of it. This year we are staggering our corn so right now, corn is only in the corner with the “scarecrow”.

Also, this post is our 1,000th on this blog!
