Celebrate the 150th Anniversary of
The end of the Civil War !

Hear the music that lifted Lincoln’s spirits and strengthened
him for “the great task remaining before us”

So reads an advertisement for the Virginia Chamber Orchestra, clearly not run or directed by a Virginian. What a ridiculous idea! Absurd!

First of all, most Virginians like most other Southerners don’t celebrate the end of the War because that was when they lost; they lost their freedom and their country. And anyway, what Virginian would celebrate the end of the War by playing and/or listening to music Lincoln loved? Lincoln was an enemy! Lincoln was despised!

But then again, this orchestra is located in Northern Virginia, a place that isn’t worthy of having “Virginia” as part of its name. We wouldn’t go to this “concert” if we were paid to go. The ignorance of these people is astounding.

Remember, the capital of the Confederacy was in Richmond, Virginia. Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and J.E.B. Stuart are all buried in Virginia. And they are going to celebrate their loss by performing Lincoln’s favorite tunes?
