On Saturday, November 8, Joe Chambers, a 17-year-old volunteer fireman, saved a police officer from a burning car after it crashed. He saw that the car was about to catch on fire, and he knew that there was a person in the car. When he ran over to the car, the door was jammed, and he had to call to the crowd watching for someone to help him get the policeman through the window. Thankfully, an older man (24) named Dante Johnson, came and helped Chambers rescue the officer from the car. Shortly after they got the policeman to the sidewalk, the engine blew.

This article grabbed our attention because it made us so happy to read good news about good people. We know there are many good people in the world, but it was still good to read that heroes like Joe Chambers still exist. It’s good to know that some people still risk their lives to save others. A lot of people in that situation would have stood by with their cameras and filmed the whole thing. In fact, some people were standing and filming, and only two people present were brave enough to save the trapped policeman.

If you’d like to read the article, here it is. We hope if we were in the same situation that we would run to help and not stand and film.
