Today Was My Birthday

Today is my 17th birthday and I got to go to the shooting range with my dad. I wanted a revolver for my birthday, but I didn’t know which kind, so we went to try a couple. I got to shoot a Smith and Wesson 357 Magnum and a 44 Magnum (like the one Clint Eastwood uses, according to my parents). I also practiced on a Glock 9 mm and a Marlin Lever Action 357 Rifle. Everyone who shoots the lever action rifle loves it because it’s a fun gun to shoot. It feels great, it’s very accurate, and working the lever kind of makes you feel like you’re back in the Wild West 🙂  I was shooting from 35-40 ft from the target.

My mom made me my favorite dinner and a chocolate fudge cake, and John got me a lot of food items we don’t usually get around here: Ramen noodles, stuffing mix, and a box of Chicken in a Biskit. My sister got me some really great chocolates from a Dutch Mennonite store, and last, but not least, I got the last Professor Layton DS game John and I don’t have: Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. Now, when we put up puzzles, we can put up four, one from each game we have.

I still don’t even have my driver’s license (not even my learner’s), but I am graduating from high school early. Next year I’ll take some classes from the community college and continue working and saving up money for a car once I do get my license.
