How We Are Celebrating This Very Special Day

Michelle Obama’s 50th birthday. How we’re celebrating:

1. We were going to make a cake, but then thought better of it. What better way to celebrate the 1st lady’s birthday but with some raw vegetables and a green smoothie.

2. Yoga, not aerobics. Yes, we are doing a few yoga moves and maybe do some hula-hooping. Let’s move people!

3. No homework or any other work for the day. What better way to honor a person than to emulate them? We’ll spend our day primping and just enjoying life. Unfortunately, we will have to get back to work tomorrow.

4. Looking at pictures of Hawaii and Martha’s Vineyard. We’ve never been, our parents have never been, we don’t know anyone who’s ever been, and we probably will never be able to go, but she’s been to both places a lot. So why not celebrate her vacations on her 50th?

5. We are finally finishing the fruitcake leftover from Christmas. It has fruit in it, so it is healthy. It’s not like we’d be eating french fries, pizza, hot dogs, cheeseburgers, or ice cream after all.

To anyone who thinks this is mean, sorry. We just saw a news article which was suggesting ways to celebrate Mrs. Obama’s birthday and we thought, “Why in the world would anyone want to celebrate her birthday?!? We don’t know her. That’s for her family to celebrate with her.” Very weird. I mean, we don’t even celebrate people’s birthdays when we know them unless they invite us over or they are in our family.

So this is how we are really celebrating Michelle Obama’s birthday. We aren’t, of course!

You. Guys are too funny! I love it!
