ChristmasTreePickWe have been having a great time for several weeks now, getting ready for Christmas, enjoying every aspect of it. Yet even while the Christmas season is going on, making cookies, decorating the tree, watching Christmas movies, buying gifts, going to Christmas parties, etc., we are aware of the fact that all of it, save some, has nothing to do with what Christmas is actually about. We enjoy the secular parts of Christmas, but what even makes it worth celebrating? Without knowing that we are celebrating the birth of Christ, all the other things would be pointless.

We are grateful to Jesus for coming to earth for us. Christmastime is a celebration of Christ’s birth and therefore, a celebration of our salvation, our hope. He is the Light of the World, the Good Shepherd, the King of kings, Lord of lords, Emmanuel, God with us, Prince of Peace, and more. Let everyone sing praise to Him this Christmas and worship His Holy Name on Christmas morning.  Thank you, Lord Jesus.

“…behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:10b-14

Merry Christmas everyone and we’ll be back after Christmas!!
