Last Crop of the Year

We just harvested the last food from our garden, our butter beans. Butter beans are also known as lima beans, and they are very tasty. We sometimes get frozen butter beans from the store, but those taste horrible compared to fresh beans. If we had never planted our own beans, we might have thought that we just didn’t like them when they are actually really good. Not only do they taste a whole lot better, their texture is nicer too. They are light, soft, and buttery as opposed to the dry and rather hard texture the frozen ones from the store have. Beans are very easy to plant and are also good for your soil. They are labor-intensive to harvest, but well worth it. So until next spring, our garden is finished.
