Yesterday, we ate this year’s first corn! We’ve been doing updates on our garden for a while, and now you can see that we finally got some produce. We’re also harvesting tomatoes, zucchini, and cucumbers. The butter beans are also looking good.
There were only about 12 ears that were ripe yesterday, and we ate most of them before we thought to take a picture, but we did remember when there were only a few ears left. The kernels were very good and poppy (that’s how we like it) and it tasted very good. We will probably be harvesting corn every day for a while now. If we get enough we’ll probably start freezing it so that we can have corn in the winter. Today we got about 30 ears of corn and we got more pictures this time. There was enough corn for each person to eat 5 ears. Some people couldn’t eat that much, so another person ate their corn for them. What we ate for supper: corn, stir-fried zucchini, apricots, cantaloupe, watermelon, tomatoes, and maybe some more things. It was a good supper!
