Our Camping Trip

Our camping trip in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania last Saturday/Sunday was very fun. We stayed at a campground called Hemlock Campground and Cottages. Even though we were only there for one night and not even a full day, it was still quite enjoyable. That might have been because we haven’t been camping in a long time. It also might have been because the campsite was pretty good. When you drove in, there was a huge chair with a sign on it that had the logo of the campsite on it. The logo is a smiling hemlock and he looks very jolly. The chair was pretty fun to sit in. Then there were two more chairs next to the big one but they were normal size and they were rocking chairs.

We stayed at campsite T-1. There were a bunch of RVs next to us, but most of them they were empty. In fact, the owner of the campground told us we came on the quietest weekend of the year. The bathrooms were very clean which is nice because we’re used to the usual disgusting campground bathrooms. We went exploring in the woods and came to a “cool place”, as we called it. There was a bunch of junk lying around there. It looked like people used that place like a junkyard. There was (among other things) an old exercising machine there and we walked on it for a while. We later found out that we were trespassing on private property. Oh well.

This campground is nice, but it is very civilized. There is a rec center where you can play a bunch of games like pinball and ping-pong. You can also play air hockey and billiard pool. There was a bingo game in rec center but we decided not to go. This campground is nice but it didn’t really feel like camping. Next time we go, we will probably go somewhere more “wild”.
